:: '93 - SOMETHING TELLS US

It all started back at the end of 1993. The Brussels car show would receive the premiere of a new Fiat.

Many magazines had already featured the new Fiat Coupe, with the Lancia Delta Integrale power plant up front and a chassis derived from the former Tipo platform. Great freedom was given to the designers and although wearing the Pininfarina logo, its exterior was designed by Chris Bangle, who would be given a nice job at BMW later, designing the M3 Cabrio, second generation Z3, the Z8 and the X-Coupe prototype.

The interior comes from the Pininfarina hand, which is why only the scripting 'Pininfarina' and not the 'f' plate with the flags is found on the car.

The Coupe was described as a car which you could take apart and drop every single part in a museum as a piece of art. And indeed, from the front bulged headlamp covers over the wheel arch slashes and the sleek race-style quick release petrol filler cap to the round rear light dishes, all could be objects of affection, and all no doubt add to the general line which as a whole is just as full of passion as every detail on the car.

The Coupe - it really deserves an Italian name that starts with an F... Fiat, with a history of sport cars throughout the years.
