Touring Italy includes the culture, the food and the wine. And the Italian way of driving. Also relaxing at the pool.

This is about as close one can get eating the cake and still have it. It is very pleasant to stay at a grape and olive farm in Toscana. So beautiful, so quiet. Almost in the middle of nowhere and at the same time close to the city of Firenze and with Roma only 200 km south. The farmer (a retired engineer) was very helpful and gave us a lot of hints. The day the Coupé was going to the service center, he guided us all the way to the gate. And gave a lot of hints about places worth visiting.

One afternoon, he recommended visiting Saltina Valombrosa. About 25 km uphill on a continuously bending road. Only wide enough on certain spots to meet other cars. Not wide enough to overtake. Not even for Italians. A 3.0 Alfa Spider followed us all the way up. At the top we missed him, but later the Alfa was spotted parked and alone. I couldn't resist to park the Coupé beside the Alfa Spider and to take a few photos. Very nice relatives!
