:: The Coupe on the road

The 24th of March... It's a Friday. I ring the insurance company to hear if they got the plates, that were promised to me somewhat earlier this week. 'Yes, they have arrived and we'll be sending them by mail.' Mail... that's what they tell you if they mean 'no rush, we will get them to you, they will arrive sooner or probably later'. So I tell the girl to keep the plates on her desk, I'll be driving to Diegem, Brussels to pick them up.

So I take the car and drive about 30 km to get the plates. On the highway, I call up the dealer to tell them I'll pick up the car most probably before seven o'clock. Directly after, I call my girlfriend to say I'll pick her up at about 6 to get the Coupé. All in all things seem to go fluently today.

I get the envelope at the KBC desk, then realize I still need one more plate... Uh-oh. I race back to Mechelen and start looking for a store that duplicates them. After some asking around, passing by different stores that just 'might' do such things, I end up in a little shoe store. 6.25 € for plastic hammer-on characters. Nice...

After picking up my girlfriend (and leaving work early) I get to the garage. There it is, but there's still some paperwork to do...

A last checkup, explaining all buttons. I think the Coupé is a great car. I don't like something like for example the Hyundai Coupé, which has got too many buttons. Whow... what's all that for? No, the Coupé is really sober on that level. No extra buttons, except that one, smoothly polished next to the steering wheel. Push it, and the starter swings the almighty five-cylinder to life.

Carefully, I start off. Concentrated, because I'm not exactly used to driving cars like that one. But it's okay. I'll take a few days to get used to it, and worry about the low front spoiler too much.

But there's always the push for more, so I press the accelerator hard, knocking myself and my girlfriend back into the leather Recaro seats. A wide grin, a 'wow' by my girlfriend, and the day's just started...
